EgyptAir, formerly known as Mis Airlines is the 7th oldest airline in the world owned by the Egyptian Government whose main hub is the Cairo International Airport. The 86 years old airline has service in over 75 destinations in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, America, and Asia. The airlines' logo depicts the Sky-deity in ancient Egyptian Mythology, Horus. It is depicted as a man with the head of a falcon which symbolizes the “winged god of the sun”. History
EgyptAir’s humble beginning in 1932 was with the Spartan Cruiser which could carry a maximum of 10 passengers and this flight operated from Cairo to Alexandria. Within a decade EgyptAir started their international operations with flights from Cairo to Port Said in Sudan, Cairo to Larnaca in Cyprus and even from Cairo to Baghdad in Iraq, and to what is now Tel Aviv in Israel. EgyptAir added the Boeing 707s to its fleet to cater to the growing international traffic, becoming the first airline in the Middle East to fly the Boeing 707s. While Egypt was renamed the Arab Republic of Egypt, they rebranded the Airline to its current name EgyptAir. The Government of Egypt undertook a corporate takeover of the airline which resulted in the airline's right to operate without interference from the government and to do so without financial backing. Headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, currently have 27 member airlines who have over 670 million passengers per year. EgyptAir Plus allows guests to earn and redeem miles across Star Alliance's carriers airlines. Passengers can access lounges depending on the type of flight ticket and frequent flyer status or class of travel.
Arab Air Carriers Organisation is a non-political non-profit organisation in Beirut, Lebanon. The organization was set up upon the recommendation of the Transport Committee of the League of Arab States. With its main goal to promote cooperation, quality and safety standards they offer industry course in various aviation management programs and training in Human Resources which help airlines achieve in their training budgets among the Arab airlines.
