Throbbing under the weight of history, the port city of Latakia traces its roots back to Roman times. Multiple civilisations have occupied these resilient lands with ancient artefacts from Early Islamic, Crusader, Ottoman and the French Mandate period dotted throughout the city. Christian often find this city particularly meaningful: the great Saint Paul himself evangelised on these lands, converting some of the earliest Christians.
