I was unexpectedly asked by a front desk staff member to settle charges related to minibar items which I did not consume. Despite clearly stating that I had not used any minibar items, I was informed that the charges were recorded in the hotel system, and I was required to settle them before my room key could be activated. As a result, I was left waiting in the lobby for approximately 30 minutes while the matter was being investigated. Eventually, it was confirmed that my statement was correct and that no minibar consumption had occurred. However, I was then handed my room key without any apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience caused.
